These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern access to and use of the AI4Schools platform and applications (the “Service”). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Definitions

  • “Apps” means AI4Schools application features (e.g., tutoring, debating, impersonation/simulation, storytelling) and related tools.
  • “User” means any person who accesses or uses the Service, including teachers, school administrators, parents/guardians (where applicable), and students.
  • “Organisation Account” means an account created and managed by an institution (e.g., a school) for use by staff and/or students.
  • “Credits” means prepaid usage units used to access certain Service features.
  • “Permanent Credits” means purchased credit packs that are not provided as part of a subscription allowance and are refundable only as stated in the Credits & Refunds Policy.
  • “Temporary Credits” means credits granted under subscriptions, trials, or promotions; they expire and are non-refundable.
  • “User Content” means content you submit to the Service, including prompts, text, files, images, and (where enabled) audio input.
  • “Output” means content generated by the Service based on User Content (including text, images, and AI-generated audio).
  • “AI Provider” means the third-party AI service provider used to generate Outputs (currently, OpenAI).

2. Eligibility, minors, and supervision

The Service is intended for educational use. Minors may use the Service only under the supervision and authority of a teacher/school or a parent/guardian, and only as permitted by applicable law and school safeguarding policies.

For Organisation Accounts, the institution represents and warrants that it has obtained any required authorisations, notices, and consents and that it provides appropriate supervision for student use.

3. Account security and administrator access

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities occurring under your account, except where prohibited by law.
  • Organisation administrators may manage user access, allocation of Credits, and other administrative settings necessary to operate the Organisation Account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use (or allow others to use) the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or school policy.
  • Infringe intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any person.
  • Submit or request unlawful, exploitative, abusive, harassing, hateful, or otherwise harmful content.
  • Attempt to bypass safety systems, content filtering, rate limits, access controls, or usage controls.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, probe, disrupt, or interfere with the Service or the systems that support it.
  • Generate or distribute malware, phishing, credential theft, or other security threats.
  • Use the Service for safety-critical or professional decision-making (e.g., medical, legal, financial) without qualified human review.

5. AI-specific disclosures (accuracy, hallucinations, and safeguards)

The Service relies on AI systems that produce Outputs probabilistically. Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or fabricated (“hallucinations”). You must independently evaluate Outputs before relying on them.

We apply safety measures and content safeguards (“railguards”) designed to reduce unsafe or inappropriate Outputs. These safeguards are best-effort and cannot guarantee that the AI will never generate incorrect, biased, inappropriate, or unsafe content.

Outputs are provided for informational and educational purposes and do not constitute professional advice.

6. Availability and dependency on third-party services

The Service is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation unless a separate written service-level agreement applies.

AI functionality depends on third-party services, including OpenAI. Availability, performance, and behavior may be affected by provider outages, rate limits, maintenance, policy changes, or other events beyond our reasonable control.

7. Credits, subscriptions, pricing, and refunds

Paid features may require Credits. Credits may be purchased as Permanent Credits or granted as Temporary Credits (e.g., under subscriptions or promotions).

Refunds and expiration rules are governed by the AI4Schools Credits & Refunds Policy. In summary:

  • Unused Permanent Credits are refundable upon request, subject to purchase verification and anti-fraud checks.
  • Temporary Credits (including subscription, trial, and promotional Credits) are non-refundable and expire as stated in the applicable plan or offer.

Prices and plan terms are those presented at checkout or in a written order form. We may update pricing prospectively, as permitted by law and contract.

8. Chat history; deletion marking; retention

The Service stores chat history to provide continuity, classroom review, and support/troubleshooting. Individuals or Organisation administrators may mark chats as deleted. Marking content as deleted generally removes it from user-visible views and standard retrieval workflows.

Unless otherwise required by law, chat history is retained for up to five (5) years. Deletion and retention practices are described in the Privacy Notice and may be subject to technical constraints (e.g., backups) and legal obligations (e.g., dispute preservation).

9. Audio processing

User audio (where speech features are enabled) is streamed for real-time processing and stored only temporarily as required to complete processing. AI-generated audio outputs may be stored to enable playback and continuity.

10. Intellectual property and licence

  • The Service, software, interfaces, branding, and documentation are owned by Odyssey or its licensors.
  • You retain rights in your User Content. You grant Odyssey a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and transmit User Content solely to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service and comply with legal obligations.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Outputs complies with applicable law, school policies, and third-party rights.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe there is a violation of these Terms, unlawful use, fraud or abuse, or risk to users (including minors), schools, or the platform.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Odyssey will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages; loss of profits; loss of data; or business interruption. Odyssey’s total aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts paid to Odyssey for the Service in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece. Courts of Athens, Greece have jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protection and jurisdiction rules that may apply.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
