This Policy explains how Credits work on the AI4Schools Service and when refunds may apply. It forms part of the AI4Schools Terms of Use.
1. Definitions
- Credits: prepaid usage units used to access certain Service features.
- Permanent Credits: purchased credit packs not provided as part of a subscription allowance.
- Temporary Credits: credits granted under subscriptions, trials, promotions, or other time-limited offers.
2. How Credits are consumed
- Credits are consumed when you use paid features (e.g., text, images, speech, or other AI-driven functions).
- Consumption may vary depending on the feature selected, request size, and technical overhead required to deliver the feature.
- If a request fails due to a verified technical error, we may restore Credits where feasible after review.
3. Priority order when multiple Credit types exist
If an account contains both Permanent and Temporary Credits, the Service may consume Temporary Credits first to reduce the risk of expiration. The applicable order may be shown in-product and may vary for technical, anti-fraud, or contractual reasons.
4. Temporary Credits (subscriptions, trials, promotions)
- Temporary Credits are non-refundable.
- Temporary Credits expire on the date shown in the plan/offer or at the end of the relevant validity period.
- Unused Temporary Credits are forfeited at expiry and generally cannot be reinstated, except where required by law.
- Temporary Credits have no cash value and are not exchangeable for money.
5. Permanent Credits (purchased credit packs)
Unused Permanent Credits are refundable upon request, subject to purchase verification and anti-fraud checks, to the extent permitted by law.
- Refunds apply only to the unused balance of Permanent Credits.
- Used Permanent Credits are not refundable.
- Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method where possible.
6. Non-refundable situations (where lawful)
To the maximum extent permitted by law, refunds and/or adjustments may be denied where:
- There is evidence of fraud, abuse, or chargeback misuse.
- Credits were granted as a free bonus, promotion, or compensation.
- The account was suspended/terminated for serious Terms violations.
- We cannot reasonably verify the purchase or requester’s authority to act for the account/Organisation.
Nothing in this Policy limits mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived.
7. Service availability and upstream dependency
The Service depends on upstream providers (including OpenAI) and infrastructure. Temporary outages, rate limits, or degraded performance may occur.
Unless required by law or a written service-level agreement applies, downtime does not automatically entitle a user to a refund. We may, at our discretion, offer remedies such as restoring Credits consumed by verified technical failures.
8. Subscriptions and credit allowances
- Subscription fees are billed on the cycle presented at checkout.
- Cancelling stops future renewals; access and Temporary Credit availability typically continue until the end of the current billing period unless plan terms state otherwise.
- Unused subscription Credits are Temporary Credits and are non-refundable.
9. Organisation Accounts (schools)
- Schools may allocate Credits across users within their Organisation Account according to administrative settings.
- Refund requests for Organisation purchases must be submitted by an authorised representative and may require invoice/order verification.
10. How to request a refund or credit adjustment
To request a refund for unused Permanent Credits or to report a billing/consumption issue, contact support@ai4schools.eu and include your account email and the order/invoice ID.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect operational, legal, or product changes. The “Last updated” date will be revised.
